The Tautfest Rental Property Story
In 1967, David L. Tautfest launched his journey as a landlord with the construction of the 4 Winds Apartments on Meadowlane. Over the decades, he expanded thoughtfully, adding more apartments, 4-plexes, duplexes, and single-family homes. David L. has always aimed to provide a diverse range of rental options to suit the varied needs of tenants—from students to families and beyond.
He has worked diligently to deliver safe, well-maintained housing that renters can take pride in calling home. Prompt attention to maintenance and repairs, combined with easy access to the Tautfest owners and staff, sets Tautfest Rental Property apart and makes it one of the most trusted and enjoyable rental experiences in the area.
The business has always been deeply family-oriented—both in how it treats renters and in its own operations. It began with David L. at the helm, then transitioned to his son, Clay Gilliland, and Clay’s wife, Brandi. This shift coincided with the office move to 320 East Main Street in Weatherford, right across from Braum’s. Clay and Brandi proudly upheld the high standards David L. established, delivering the same reliable, welcoming rental experience that generations of tenants have enjoyed—including current renters, their parents, and even grandparents who lived here as SWOSU students.
Today, the next generation continues the legacy: Clay and Brandi’s son, Hudsen Gilliland, has joined the team, bringing fresh energy while carrying forward the family’s commitment to quality and service. It’s truly a generational business for good reason!
